Senior Procurement Officer - AI & Process Automation

Role Overview We are looking for a highly experienced and technology-driven Senior Procurement Officer to join our real estate development team. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who understands traditional procurement operations and can leverage AI, automation tools, and digital workflows to streamline and automate procurement processes. What You Will Do Manage procurement activities, coordinate with suppliers and vendors, negotiate commercial terms, and ensure the timely procurement of materials and services. Identify manual, repetitive, and inefficient processes within the procurement department and implement practical automation solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, transparency, and cost control. Why It Might Be a Fit Candidates with experience in real estate development, construction, contracting, or engineering projects will be strongly preferred. We are looking for someone who can do more than manage purchasing activities - we need a procurement professional who can transform how the department operates through AI and automation. Requirements • Minimum 5+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations, preferably in real estate development, construction, contracting, or engineering. • Strong practical knowledge of end-to-end procurement processes and supplier/vendor management. • Demonstrated experience implementing AI tools, workflow automation, or digital process improvements in procurement or related business operations. • Ability to identify manual processes and independently develop practical solutions to automate them. • Hands-on familiarity with AI tools and automation platforms such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Power Automate, Make, Zapier, n8n, or equivalent tools. • Experience with Excel automation, structured data processing, document extraction, reporting, and workflow integration. • Strong analytical, organisational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across departments. • A practical, improvement-oriented mindset with the ability to turn automation ideas into working solutions. • Previous procurement experience with a real estate developer, construction company, or main contractor. • Familiarity with construction materials, MEP procurement, subcontractor sourcing, and project-based purchasing. • Experience automating purchase-to-pay workflows, supplier documentation, invoice processing, or approval systems. • Ability to demonstrate previous automation projects, measurable efficiency improvements, or workflow examples.
